Dan Green is an artist interested in identity and spirituality. Using himself and his experiences as starting points he questions belief, organised religion and the role of upbringing in the shaping of our character. Born in High Wycombe, now living in Nottingham as a BA Fine Art student, he was brought up in a Christian home with church a regular part of his life. Post school he spent time working as a youth worker and musician as part of a youth mission organisation based in Bristol, with time spent in Swansea as well. He has constantly questioned the notion of God, finally accepting it, it is from this position that he now examines the effect of this decision on his life. His work is honest, trying to describe and empathise with issues often raised in our lives. He seeks not to impress his views on the viewer, but to make them consider for themselves what ideal or utopia they look up to, and how that plays itself out in their lives. |
